Community Profile:World Addresses Inc. is the first international subsidiary of the successful Address/Mailing specialists Allies Computing Ltd. Allies have been operating in this space for over 25 years and are one of the largest and most successful Address Management software suppliers in the United Kingdom. Having just launched World Addresses Web; www.worldaddresses.com the decision was taken to open an office in San Francisco to help US companies save money, reduce misaddressed and undeliverable mail and improve the look and feel of their company to their customers.
Headed up by Vice President of Sales for North America Chris Hamlin, the San Francisco office opened for business in December 2010 and is already helping US companies by supplying them with innovative addressing technology. In fact www.worldaddresses.com is the first software in the world to be compatible with the United Nations Universal Postal Union’s S42 Global Addressing standards.
The move to San Francisco for Chris and the company has been made much easier by the contacts he built up through the BABC. “Joining the BABC was a great move due to the number of networking contacts at the great events they put on that I have made. It’s the best money we’ve spent and I’ve even joined their events committee so I can help other companies get the same value”, said Chris of membership to the organization. He further mentioned: “The US marketplace can be a big and scary place for UK companies but I’m confident that California is the place to do business. It truly is the land of opportunity and we have a product that has clear and measurable benefits to organizations of all sizes. 2011 is going to be great year.”
Chris himself joined the Address/mailing industry in January 2004, and quickly established himself as an authority on licensing and implementation of address data. He headed up the commercial side of Allies Computing Ltd in the UK and over the past 6 years has become internationally recognized as an expert in his field. He was a natural choice to head up the San Francisco office and was excited by the opportunity to help more clients worldwide. He said this of the move: “The US postal service claims that 23% of all mail they process has an incorrect or incomplete address which has an estimated cost to US businesses of $1.6 Billion a year! Large mailers can save tens of thousands of dollars in wasted postage, missed deliveries and of course, customer satisfaction. But because our software starts at only $80, we can help companies of all sizes save money, prevent waste and improve customer relations. I’m confident that companies will quickly realize the measurable benefits we can bring to their operations.”
