Annual Economic Luncheon

Sponsored by the British-American Business Council and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P.

This event is an ideal opportunity to hear expert predictions for 2012 and discuss how local and global economic patterns might affect your business. Brian Fabbri will discuss predictions for the world economy and Sean Randolph will focus on the year ahead for the Bay Area economy.

Brian Fabbri, the founder of Fabbri Global Economics (FGE) has been presenting his economic forecast to the BABC for the last 21 years and we are delighted to welcome him back in 2012. His firm offers advisory services to corporate and private clients and specializes in early detection and translation of important emerging economic trends and government policies affecting global financial markets. Brian is one of the first economists on Wall Street who identified and communicated the dangerous housing bubble and its inevitable collapse and predicted that it would lead to a deep recession. FGE offers uncompromised views and forecasts on the economy, financial markets and government actions that shape future investment opportunities in the US and global markets. Mr. Fabbri has published numerous articles and has appeared on BBC World, CNN, and "News Hour with Jim Lehrer."

Sean Randolph is president and CEO of the Bay Area Council Economic Institute. Dr. Randolph previously served as California's Director of International Trade, where he developed trade strategy and directed international business programs to stimulate exports and introduce California companies to overseas markets. His professional career also includes serving as US Congress and White House staff, and in senior positions at the Department of State and Energy. DR. Randolph holds degrees from Georgetown University and Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tuffs and Harvard Universities) and studied at the London School of Economics. He frequently speaks to business and government audiences and writes for US and international media on global, national, state and regional economic and policy issues.
