Upcoming Events

The Competitive Edge Series

The San Francisco BABC is launching its "Competitive Edge Series". We are dedicated to helping our members obtain the knowledge they need to succeed in a global competitive market place. The BABC - Northern California Chapter has an extensive data-base composed of some of the Bay Area's most prominent international business leaders as well as British / Americans involved in a wide array of professional services.

The BABC would like to invite our members to submit ideas and proposals for potential seminars for consideration by our Events Committees. Ask yourself these questions:

"What do I want to know more about?"/ "What do US companies need who are looking to grow abroad?" / "What do UK companies looking to grow here need to know?"
This invitation to present is available to BABC Members only. Members and their guests will be invited to attend the series.

For information on joining the BABC, please contact the BABC office at 415.296.8645.

We look forward to your feed back.

The Clashes for the Ashes Cricket & BBQ

So after 10 years England finally regained the Ashes. With Australia chasing 228 (almost 6 an over) and in tatters at 70 for 7 it seemed like the beer tent would be invaded prematurely.

After an extended lunch break, strawberries and cream, egg and spoon races and other such festive delights, the Australians went out to bat. Surely England would win this year, wouldn't they? It looked like that was inevitable until a catch was dropped, then another, then another and then …another. How could this happen?

8 needed off the last over with one wicket left. And then it was one ball left with four to tie and five or six to win. The last batsman gamely tried to find the boundary but only succeeded in getting two before being easily run out - game over and England had won by two runs with Australia 226 all out.
